CONSULTANTS APPOINTED TO CARRY OUT REVIEW IN TO JULY AND AUGUST FLOODING
Following the flooding of a number of homes and businesses in Stockport in July and August 2019, we have commissioned an independent review into the events leading up to the flooding.
The council has employed Mott MacDonald, a firm of consultants, to:
- look at how and why the flooding happened
- recommend what measures should be put in place to help mitigate future flooding
- look at the findings from the 2016 flooding and the actions that were taken
Mott MacDonald will review the information received by residents in the aftermath of the flooding.
Following this, the council proposes to organise drop-in sessions for local residents to talk to the consultants in January 2020.
The dates of these sessions will be communicated to residents in due course.
