Work on the next phase of Stockport Exchange will start on site this week with the announcement that ADM Regeneration has been appointed to demolish the former Cineworld cinema.
Over the coming weeks contractors are due to pave the way for work to begin on the next site in the award-winning business district Stockport Exchange.
Stockport Exchange has proven highly successful, quickly accommodating global re-commerce business musicMagpie, national bus operator Stagecoach and becoming fully let within just six months of completion. At the same time the neighbouring Holiday Inn Express has received rave reviews from guests and is frequently fully booked.
The excessive demand for Stockport Exchange, located next to Stockport’s mainline rail station, where businesses can enjoy unrivalled connectivity to London, Manchester and locations across the UK, strengthened the case for a new 60,000 sq ft six-storey Grade A office building to be constructed.
Muse is delivering the £145 million award-winning, mixed-use regeneration scheme in partnership with Stockport Council.
Cllr Kate Butler, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:
“Thanks to the successes of Stockport Exchange and Light Cinema, Stockport Council is pleased to begin demolition of the old Cineworld. We are looking for to working with Muse to develop high quality office spaces, attract even more business into Stockport and create more local jobs for residents.”
2 Stockport Exchange is due to be completed in Spring 2020.
