Janet Glover, Labour’s Candidate for Offerton, is the principled and dedicated choice for the local election on 5th May and is the only person capable of delivering the real change which people in Offerton and Great Moor want to see.
Janet said ‘I’m extremely pleased to have been selected as the Labour Candidate for Offerton ward. Offerton is a great place and if elected to be your local Councillor I want to unlock the massive potential that our area has to be an even better place to live and work.
‘I have a track record of action for local residents, whether that’s standing up against Lib Dem cuts to local Council services, fighting for safer streets on Bosden Farm, or tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in our area.
‘My record of dealing with hundreds of issues for local people contrasts starkly with our absentee Lib Dem Councillor who is up for election this year. Only Labour has the energy and new ideas to deliver for Offerton.’
Janet trained as a nurse and became a local community midwife before moving into teaching.
Janet has worked for Ofsted and the NHS and is passionate about education and healthcare, which will be two of her key priorities if elected on 5th May.
Janet added ‘This election is a three-way fight between your reliable Labour team and absentee Lib Dem and Tory candidates who don’t offer a fresh alternative, just more of the same for our community.
‘A Labour Council will safeguard our vital public services whilst being ambitious about the future of Stockport.’
