The Heatons North Labour team would like to thank all local residents who contributed to making our Community Action Day a massive success.
18 local residents took part in the event, and helped fill 12 bags of rubbish. Residents told us during a recent street surgery that they felt that Priestnall Field was in poor condition and in patches was strewn with litter, so we organised a community event to help clear up the area.
Local campaigner Cat Sheppard, who organised the event added, “It’s been a great day and we’ve really made a difference in the area, we’re now going to lobby the Council to install a couple of rubbish bins in hotspot areas”.

Hi Mr Robinson,
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
We will be having a number of other Community Action Days in the near future across the Heatons and we will be back at Priestnall Field in the autumn. I will also speak to the Dog Warden to see if we have any additional signs to erect in the vicinity, in March the Dog Warden installed a 3 around the field.
Best Wishes
David
Hi David,
Thank you for your email, please put me on your list for helping with litter collections, my email address is NealeR@sky.com, the more notice you can give me the better,. I would also be interested in hearing of any other local initiatives you may be involved in which helps the local area.
There are plenty of signs regarding cleaning up after your dog but I thought the council may be able to incorporate into the signs about people picking up there own litter – not sure if this would be the dog warden 🙂
Best Regards
Neale Robinson
I would have liked to take part in this but due to the short notice I was unable to do so. I would like to thank all the people who took part and I will certainly try to help on future clean up iniatives.
As well as bins may I suggest that stockport council change their dog mess signs to also include a note to take your litter home with you as well as cleaning up dog mess. – this would cost very little and would hopefully encourage people to clean up after themselves.
