When Arriva Rail North took over operating Northern in 2017 it was to much fanfare about how investment in this new franchise would transform local travel.
However, proposed changes to the current timetable tell a very different story.
If these changes go ahead, we’ll see a REDUCTION in the number of trains stopping at: Davenport, Woodsmoor and Heaton Chapel stations where trains are already overcrowded at peak times.
We think Northern should go back to the drawing board and find a way to IMPROVE these services not cut them.
And it’s not just commuters travelling to and from work who would be affected; it’s young people going to college, people visiting Stepping Hill Hospital and anyone using the service throughout the day.
