STOCKPORT SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICE ‘GOOD’ ACROSS THE BOARD

Stockport’s supported living service has been rated ‘good’ across all areas by a recent assessment by the Care Quality Commission, following an inspection in July. The service, provided by Stockport’s Labour-run Council, currently supports 52 people in a number of homes across Stockport.

Inspectors found that homes were clean, safe and staff had the right ‘skills and training needed to support people’.

The review further noted that ‘management of the service had a clear vision for how they wanted the service to improve’ and that service users ‘were supported to have the maximum choice and control of their lives’ …ensuring people who use the service can ‘live as full a life as possible’.

Commenting on the review findings, Stockport’s Labour Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, Cllr Jude Wells said:

“This report came back with some really positive findings, noting a clear purpose about how staff are take this service forward. It further notes that all the right conditions for people who are supported by the service to live full and independent lives.

“I am very pleased for the teams whose professional care, experience and hard work is ensuring this service goes from strength to strength.

I pay tribute to their efforts and important work. It is great to see them recognised in this way and I am confident the supported living service can continue making improvements on behalf of the people which they support.“
