CLAIM: Stockport Lib Dem budget proposal will boost traffic wardens

REALITY: Lib Dem budget proposal piggybacks on Labour’s Schools Safety report

What is true is that this amendment proposed to increase the number of traffic wardens at budget Council.

However, with a Labour report into Road Safety near Schools  was planned to go through scrutiny just seven days later (1st March). This detailed an additional £450,000 for road safety improvements, including more wardens. The Liberals knew there would be an opportunity to make recommendations the report, but instead publicized their budget amendment days before it was even voted on by the Council. Whats really going on here?…

A classic example of the ‘claim credit and grandstand’  instruction in the Lib Dem Playbook, this time with the issue of road safety.
